The Trustees of the Margaret and Alexander Club Charity plan to close the building and sell it at the end of September 2011. Although this building is not suitable for English Heritage listing, it is an original and focal point of the village. It should be saved for its social history alone. It was built for the Ogilvie rural estate workers at a time when philanthropy was not uppermost in most rural employers minds. The sport and community groups which use the Ogilvie Hall for their activities will be displaced. The Badminton section, which has a strong following and 14 juniors (some of whom have gained National awards) in particular would find it difficult to relocate due to needing a building with a high enough ceiling. Other groups would find it difficult to relocate as they are elderly and not as mobile as most, would find it difficult to travel.
