I love this ride, and i have for 20 years.This is the best ride in the park, why disapoint so many fans and destroy it. And for what? a water slides. wtf

I love this ride and also the history. I am 25 yrs old and this coaster has been around since my mom was a little girl. I believe the coaster should be here as it apart of both north and south Carolina history.

I worked at Carowinds in the 1980s in a live show and used to ride Thunder Road after my shift. Sorry to this historical ride torn down.

Thunder road was my first ride. We need to save the origin of this grand park. Not demolish it for a "water ride". C'mon guys.

Thunder Road is one of Carowind's most iconic coasters, and the most unique wooden coaster I've had a chance to ride. An overwhelming majority of visitors attend the park for the thrill rides, and destroying a historic park staple to add to an insignificant water park is a horrendous mistake.

Thunder Road is not the last of the "classics," it's not even Carowinds' first ride! The three original rides in the park are skytower, goldrusher, and Snoopy's Junction, all opening in 1973. Thunder Road opened 3 years later. Thunder Road has pretty much no significance to Carowinds history and it isn't the only coaster in the park to cross state lines. MOVE. ON.

Save this ride! It's a historical peice of Carowinds & deserves the chance to remain & be repaired.
