Can't they just build around it? If there is nothing wrong with the ride, why retire it? It was my first coaster I had ever rode. :)

It's time to stop tearing down the history of roller coasters to build bigger, better, faster coasters in their place. The clickity clack of the wooden coaster can never be replace with metal and carbon fiber, these living history pieces must be preserved and enjoyed!!!

Do not get rid of Thunder Road! Have you lost your minds? Fix it, if need be, but it was the first real roller coaster that many of us rode! You would be making a huge mistake to get rid of it.....remember the "New Coke"? Yeah, that kind of mistake!

Thunder road is one of Carowinds main selling points. If it's taken down you will lose business and returning customers.
