With growing concerns about the 10 fish limit we as Delawarians need to take a stand .. Please sign this petition so maybe we can lower the Daily Creel to a more reasonable number before its TOO LATE ! I'd like to thanks everyone who has already signed this petition . I did not give much to support what I have said but believe me it takes about 20 years for a Male Tog to reach 4 Pounds .. Keeper size fish legally range from 14 to 15 inches and these are 3 Pound plus fish . Some fish can reach 20 or more pounds and are said to be near or over 100 Years old . This past year many in Delaware fished for Tog Or Blackfish simply because "other" fish such as Croaker and Bluefish never made an appearance and the Size for a legal Flounder has Jumped to 19.5" .. This has forced many to target Blackfish as they normally would not do . We are told the Regulation will stay in effect for atleast 2 more years and to be honest it may be too late by then . Damage is already being done . The winter Blackfish fishery here in Delaware has not been recorded .. EVER ! The Blackfish are the main target as well as Black Seabass throughout the entire winter months and many of both are caught . I am not placing blame anywhere but I do know if we do not act now we may not have to worry about Blackfish .. They will be wiped out . Neighboring states have a much lower Daily Creel for Blackfish so many come to Delaware just because we have the 10 fish a day Limit . The limit is 10 fish a day and if you catch # 11 you are legally supposed to release that fish .. This too is being abused as I have seen 1 guy put 20+ fish in a cooler to be split with his crew . Why even take the chance at losing such a valuable resource .. In parts of Pennsylvania you see Blackfish live in aquariums and sold for high dollar .. Many of these fish were poached fish and Illegally taken not to mention below size limits .. They get away with it because PA has no regulations for Blackfish as they can not be caught in PA . This fish needs our help as its being exploited in many ways .
