The Spix's Macaw IS said to be extinct in the wild except for MAYBE an handful! Some say it is already extinct in the wild. The rest of the known Spix's Macaws that are still with us are in captivity in Zoo's and in private ownership. Please help save this beautiful parrot from being exploited any further. We must have programs to help these birds proliferate and get them back into the wild where they belong. Much of the reason they are extinct is loss of habitat!
