The quickest way to destroy a school and it's community is by removing the teachers that give a damn! The musical arts program at Crenshaw high has helped keep many of the communities children off the streets and out of trouble and of the streets (like myself) with it's after school programs, rehearsals, concerts, ect. The removal of these 2 highly respected teachers/ mentors would not only be a devastating blow 2 Crenshaw high but also to the community who supports Crenshaw high!

this is no better than the gentrification going on in our community. Ms. Stevenson and Mr. Tarver are vital role models when it comes to Crenshaw High, the Crenshaw District and the whole Crenshaw experience!! you take them away is Crenshaw even Crenshaw?? I think not.

I don't even know where to start. As a former Drum major of the great Crenshaw marching 100 I am utterly disgusted and disappointed with this decision. Al Tarver and Iris Stevenson-McCullough have build a outstanding reputation for Crenshaw that expands all across the world. Because of their reputation I have had opportunitys I would have never had. As a child I got to see America, I was exposed to much more than what was around me, inward able to see there is much more for me. Without the two of them I wouldn't have beenable to college and make a great life for myself. Tarver thought me how to be a leader, how to stand up for what's right. I really don't know what to say but they are needed. The neighborhood and the city needs them. How can you all take away what they built? Without them many of us wouldn't have went to college or even know that it was a option for us. Its beyond the music and the great performances, it's about know you have someone who cares and wants to see you win and they truly just want to see us win. I'm just rambling at this point because my thoughts are everywhere. I just know that this is something that shouldn't be happening. You are taking away pillars of our community

If it was not for these instructors, Crenshaw would not be what it is today. They motivate students to come to school everyday looking for to their day because they know they have this extraordinary class! Without Mrs.Stevenson & Mr.Tarver VAPA WILL NOT BE VAPA!!! I stand by them 100% and they will continue to be irreplaceable.
