Capt. Joe, the Sea Star and her crew are the best in their business and should be viewed by Helgren's and the City of Oceanside as very valuable assets. Something to be treasured and protected, not dispensed with in an ill advised pursuit of an extra buck.. Capt. Joe and the crew of the Sea Star provide valuable educational, fishing and memorial services, at an exemplary level, and need to remain in Oceanside for the benefit of generations.

Captain Joe served the community w/educational trips for youths and burials at sea for families. We need to thank him for his contribution. It is a shame that his efforts were ignored and may loose his rights to continue his business at Oceanside Harbor. City of Oceanside should step in to solve the problem to allow Captain Joes operation atHarbor.

Took my children on their first deep sea fishing on the SEA STAR and Capt. Joe and his crew made it one of my childrens most memorable moments. Very professional, caring, courteous, and respectful group. It's an outrage to hear what's going on with Helgrens trying to get rid of the SEA STAR just for greed driven purposes.

I have been fishing on the Sea Star for 20 years and have experienced the most professional and friendly captain and crew ever. Captain Joe is a quality person and an asset to the fishing industry. He is widely known and appreciated by the other captains and members of the sportfishing industry for his integrity and knowledge.
He is a strong advocate of protecting the ocean fishery and runs his charter operation with this in mind.
If Oceanside loses the Sea Star Operation they will lose a lot more than one charter boat.
Thanks for all the great trips Joe and hoping for many more.

My family and friends (Encinitas Fire Department) have been taking their families on the Sea Star for the past 7 years. This was an annual trip and is now a bi-annual trip for our families. Capt. Joe's Sea Star is the most family friendly sport fishing boat in Southern California. We can take our kids (ranging in age from 6 to 14 years old) on the boat and the crew is polite and courteous towards our families. They assist them in every way making them feel comfortable and making sure everyone has a great time. I don't have to worry about poor behavior or any vulgar language from the crew. It is something my family and I look forward to twice a year and we would be very disappointed if anything happened to Capt. Joes Sea Star.

The city of Oceanside, the harbor, the tourists and all of the fishing community would be so much further ahead if we had a reputable business running the landing.
Why the city officials have not stepped in long ago to correct the problems that The Sea Star and the public has been dealing with for some time is just inexcusable.

This boat means more to me than you could imagine. I was able to fulfill my sons wish. I buried him at sea.
