The trails on DL 1375, Savary Island have been used for countless generations and are a priceless treasure in need of protection. I endorse the dedication, protection and public use of the trail system on DL 1375, as it is an integral network and an important local and national asset.

Savary Island Land Trust Society Please help us protect the trail system throughout the 330 acre District Lot1375 on Savary Island. The Preliminary Layout Approval for the subdivision of this national treasure dedicates and protects only 5 of the 16 trails currently in use. These trails have taken countless generations to quiet beaches, ancient forests, wild lands, rare meadows and some of the region's last Old Growth Forests. The Powell River Regional District can require that additional trails be dedicated for protection as part of the development process. The trails offer opportunities for education, recreation, annual pilgrimages, clean transportation, community health, and nature appreciation. The Savary Island Land Trust Society recognizes that some trails may need to be re-routed to protect sensitive areas.
