Hello Dear Allanza Neighbor,

TLDR: Landscaping plans at the Allanza at The Lakes office pool area will involve the removal of a beautiful, mature 60 ft tall pine tree that is a great asset to the setting. We need more of this living nature in this desert climate, not less.

And they plan to replace it with a FIRE PIT!

Unfortunately, they have already started some of the construction. The tree stands for now.

More words:

Current plans for landscaping by the Allanza office pool include the removal of the beautiful, mature pine tree near the pool, which has a trunk almost two feet thick, easily 40 years old and a great asset to the property.

The tree is majestic, with a thick trunk, great structure, very healthy and lush green foliage. I’m sure everyone enjoys seeing this beautiful tree by the pool. It provides shade to part of the pool deck in hot summers and is a much needed vision of nature here.

Today we are encouraged to protect the environment, not waste resources, recycle, cherish nature. Fires and deforestation around the world are devastating. Let’s join to protect this one, beautiful tree that has been such an attractive feature on the property for over three decades.

Please help protect our tree by signing the petition today.

Thanks! - Eric - Allanza resident since 1999

Be happy and healthy.

Seeing this kind of momentum reminds me why I have called this property home for so many years. Our neighbors clearly value the shade and history of this beautiful pine just as much as I do.

Please save the tree. I love trees and animals, and one of the reason why I love living here in Allanza it's because Allanza is full of life. People are walking with their fur companions, lots of trees, birds are chirping in the morning , front has neat cutted grass etc.

I too visit Allanza. On my visits I have found this tree to be wonderful. It adds to the value of this property by increasing the natural beauty and shade. Save this tree!

I'm saddened to hear the news that Allanza wants to remove a 40 year tree so it can be replaced with a fire pit. Please save this tree! There are some great trees on this property and it's heartbreaking to see how some of them have been cut down in the past year alone. DON'T CUT IT DOWN!!

Removing a tree to put a fire pit? Terrible idea. That tree is not only a pleasant sight year round but provides shade during the summer and a nesting place for birds. Leave the tree alone.

Do not cut a perfectly good tree that is not diseased! Concentrate on all of the leaking irrigation hoses that are wasting water that we PAY!

They haven't watered any of the large trees on the property in the last 2 years as well, and they are dying. It's sad.
