I called my father after I heard the news he is overly distraught. The house and land where the whole Mundy Family grew up is in talks about being put up for sale. The reasons why are not important. Gary, my father, does not really talk about his feelings too much with his kids, so when he sounded distressed, I knew this was a big deal to him. Gary, among numerous other siblings, does not want this to see this happen. They would the Mundy Farm to stay exactly what it is, a legacy of their parents for generations to come. They would like this special place in Ferdinand to remain special to the Mundy Family. My dad, like your parents, grew up on this farm, had good memories and bad ones, but when you think of the Mundy farm, you think of family. When I think of the Mundy farm I think of grandma sitting in the kitchen intently listening to you as you spoke to her. Or offering one of her delicious cookies to you that she always seemed to have a secret surplus of. I think of grandpa sitting in his recliner in the living room or outside working. I think of when we were kids and just running around outside while our parents had workdays. What would happen if they try to sell it? My dad mentioned a few theories, the farm itself would be turned into a subdivision, and grandma and grandpas house would be torn down to make room for new quick builds. Our family would no longer make an effort get together for holidays. Money from the sale would tear the family apart. Once it is sold, they would realize what a huge mistake it was and they no longer can take it back. My dad is pleading that we as grandkids get together to form one huge voice to save the farm so we can have many years to come. My father really wants the Mundy Farm to be in our family forever and he is truly upset that it has come to this. My dad is hoping that this would hopefully ignite a spark to save the Mundy Farm. He is pleading that we be this final voice to save the farm.
