The JMP is vital to our community and should be continued. The need for primary care physicians is greater than ever. I have seen what students in this program can do and they really make a difference.

Please keep this program going. I myself could help by a physician who can look beyond the surface of what might ail me. Primary care physicians are badly needed in this state. Thank you

My training in the 1980s in the JMP provided an innovative and deep ethical, clinical, and scientific foundation for my career as a family physician, public health scientist and leader, and entrepreneur.

The Joint Medical Program is a very special program that enriches the experience of all UCSF students and, through its graduates, contributes greatly to our society.

The JMP is an incredible program. In addition to training an exceptionally strong and diverse cohort of physicians, JMP's dedicated faculty and staff provide a wealth of unique expertise, perspectives, and resources to a campus with hundreds of aspiring pre-health students. Every effort should be made to keep it going!

Eliminating this medical program would be unforgivable. My current primary care physician is a graduate of this program, and he is one of the most outstanding doctors I've ever known.

This would be a huge loss to the community. As a JMP preceptor I truly appreciate the opportunity to engage with students who will drive the change needed in our healthcare system.

The JMP has been a true leader in medical education and socially conscious throughout its approach. I was hoping to one day perhaps have the privilege to attend the JMP/PRIME program and attain proper training in how to address health disparities in all communities including my own. The JMP teachers and students have demonstrated true leadership and compassion in showing myself and fellow BSPers that medicine includes more than just pathology, anatomy and the step exams. Keep the JMP going for generations to come!

I personally want to be a part of this program. It offers me everything I want to do in the future! Shutting this program down would be unfair, especially to students from underserved communities!

The JMP gave me a good foundation in patient centered medicine and homeless outreach. As former Suitcase clinic coordinator for the womens clinic at the JMP, I now run a homeless clinic in my city. I am one of only two physicians doing homeless outreach, and the other is about to retire. Take away the JMP and you take away a pipeline to work like homeless outreach, that many do not want to do. The JMP houses and sustains interest and compassion for the marginalized.
