This petition is meant to overturn Obama's decision to allow the sale of horse meat for human consumption. Horses are not stock animals. They are not raised with the same diets and intents as cows and chickens. The people selling their horses to slaughterhouses, which they have been doing all along even though it was illegal, are doing so because their horses are diseased or dying. This cannot be allowed. Furthermore, horses are meant for companionship, not food. To stick a metal pole through a horse's head just because you were too poor to take care of it is absolutely wrong, and this needs to be stopped before it gets out of control.
