The West Johnstone Youth Service (or Drop in Centre as it is known locally) is earmarked for closure by Renfrewshire Council. The Drop in Centre is home to the Johnstone Groupwork Service and is situated in the heart of the Howwood Road community where it has been for almost 20 years. The Drop in Centre provides an invaluable group work service to the most vulnerable children and young people in the community. To close the Drop in Centre and locate the service to the Johnstone area social work team would rob the local community of one of its few remaining resources.
