Cobblestone should be saved. So many great memories from there - dances, teen hops, dining out. It was a great place when the Lawrences had it.

When we came to Storm Lake the ballroom was still in use and we've danced there with other faculty of Buena Vista college.

My mother was one of the cooks for many, many years at the Cobblestone. Both my brother and I worked during summer school vacations at the Cobblestone for the Lawerance family. The Cobblestone brings back many fawn memories of at great place to live and grow up. It would be a horrific mistake to destory this land mark which helped place both Storm Lake and Lakeside on the map and become part of Iowa's history.

If the walls could talk they could tell some great stories. I think Cobblestone was one of the things that made Storm Lake great.

So many fond memories! The monkey cages, the skating rink, the carnival, Hygrade Christmas parties. Save this treasure!
