Save The Arms

Remington Arms truly the economic backbone of the Mohawk Valley has said they would likely pull out of Ilion, New York if a Micro-stamping law is in enacted, and take its over 1,000 jobs with it along with it. Micro-stamping is an action that requires during the firing of a weapon an insignia (the make, model, and serial number) be etched onto the cartridge case. This expensive process can be easily thwarted by using basically any everday household tool, and it would increase substantially to the cost of a firearm. It also would provide little if none at all public safety benefits due to the, as previously stated easily thwarted process. We as citizens of the Mohawk Valley realize how devastating this loss would be to our economic future and we sign this petition in an effort to halt this misguided law and to save not only Remington arms and its employees, but also to save The Mohawk Valley, its towns, villages and the community as a whole!
