I think there are plenty of places in the park to build without eliminating an established improvement.

Swope Park Disc Golf Course is one of my favorite courses in Kansas City. I'd hate to see it end.

What a backroom, destructive decision. Swope is one of the largest parks in the country and they cant find anywhere else to put it? Give me a break. Slap in the face to kcmo constituents

This is the core of my suit against the city of Danville .If this is a sport then we should expect it to be treated like a sport. Decisions shouldn't be made that involve the disc golf course without consulting local experts ie. people actually involved in the sport. The person who made this decision obviously didn't do that and if they're city employees their onus is to make decisions that are best for the the city. It also sounds like they did not do that. You should look at the city policies. Again,
if this is a sport we should be able to expect the city to treat it accordingly. Would they take a ballfield out without consulting the teams that use it, Or a soccer field. I'm a policy wonk and I tell you, look at your policies that's where your best chance to be heard is. Go to a city council meeting and point out the new status of the sport in light of the IOC decision. Fight back and stay in touch with me about this.

There are several convenient sites where the NO Kill Shelter could be built. A flat open piece of land being the best. There is plenty of land by the OFF LEASH park and by the NATURE CENTER.

Swipe was the first course a lit of people learned to play on. It's part of the city's history and one of the few things in Swope Park that still has a loyal group of visitors.

This course is good for the community and good for the neighborhood. Thw Swope course should be preserved and the animal hospital can be built on park land that is not currently utilized by any facility.

This shelter could go across the street or a number of places. Why is it displacing the very popular oldest disc golf course in Kansas City (and one of the oldest in Missouri)?
