I support the protection of the 63 existing, full grown trees along the South fence line of Sugar House Park. I also agree that Salt Lake County and the Sugar House Park Authority should revisit the current design of the PRATT Trail's intersection with the park and develop an alternative plan which will be less destructive to the park and preserve its green and passive open space.

Updates

July 3, 2012

I spent the entire morning staring at the fence line and wondering how anyone could look at those trees and see anything other than a disaster if they are removed. I have been fielding emails from neighbors who are just as confused as I am about why this design is even being considered but the silence from the park authority is honestly getting louder by the day.

We already lost enough green space in this city. dont ruin the park.

Ridiculous to destroy mature trees like that. Find another way to connect the trail. Use your heads.

Those trees have been there forever. Stop cutting down our history for another pointless trail.

Design something else that works around the trees. It is not that hard if you actually care about the neighborhood
