SCA is the most important contemporary art school in Australia. It is madness to not preserve it!!!

I most certainly am not in favour of selling off heritage sites (Kirkbride Building, East Sydney Goal) to private interests. Students are deserving of exemplary spaces in which to study and develop their artistic practice. Keep SCA and NAS where they currently are!

Very disappointed in this short sighted and venal move by University of Sydney, my alma mater.

Philistines are running NSW!

Art is culture, diversity is necessary.

Save Sydney College of the Arts for the present and future successful cultural contributions SCA students make to the whole of Australia. One art school in a city the size of Sydney is unconscionable. It took years and years to build a cultural community of multiple voices, visions and methodologies found in the three major tertiary institutions in Sydney. Sydney College has earned well deserved international and domestic respect for the enormous contribution graduates and staff at Sydney College have made to the collective cultural advancements of our age and will no doubt continue into future. Do not make the mistake of tearing it down, thereby breaking the invaluable lineage of artistic practice and methodology over time. Each graduating student's cultural contribution builds upon the excellence and pride that arises from being a part of the historical contributions of previous graduates. Please, lets not go back to the days of the Australian Cultural Cringe that was so prevalent when Sydney had only one major art school, East Sydney Tech. A large multicultural city needs cultural options and differences in educational opportunities that is found presently in Sydney College of the Arts, COFA and The National Art School. SAVE SCA!

Saving the diverse art education programmes in NSW is high priority. All three colleges have something to offer students, in particular, in relation to SCA, studio practice, which will probably not be available if these plans are followed through.

Any changes to the SCA are a direct threat to the future of the Arts in Australia. It also denies students the right to complete their degree according to the agreement entered when they enrolled.

Keep fine arts education alive in NSW!

appalled at latest steps by Government and Universities to downgrade fine arts including removing Callan Centre as base for SCA and preparing to sell off the Darlinghurst Gaol longtime home of the National Art School

Sydney needs a diversity of art school and art schools need studio facilities. SCA is critical to the arts in Australia, not just NSW.

Dear USyd, you are contemplating the destruction of one of your greatest assets. Please try to look beyond the short-term real estate temptation of the Rozelle site, and rethink the dismantling of SCA. The proposal to relocate it within the main campus is not credible. Thank you

This issue needs to be addressed in a detailed way and not in some ad hoc "art isn't a real university concern" approach.

Education in the creative arts is essential for a better world

Visual Arts Education should be nurtured not denied!

A mature culture is built through diverse and open systems. SCA, NAS & A&D are all in their seperate ways crucial to the wellbeing of Sydney, NSW and Australia' s healthy and evolving culture.

The Sydney College of the Arts is the soul of Sydney and , as in most overseas cities, is the heart of urban renewal. Sydney University must maintain it as an important arm of the university.

Arts is an area that needs expanding, not contracting!

Very disheartening...am a fine arts student and we need more artists in this world! People need to seek happiness and the creative field opens doors to such freedom. This should be supported in our society rather than negated with unclear statistical returns. Happy people will work and pay back their debts!

Value the arts in Australia and protect the facilities at SCA, which offer unique opportunities for our artists. Let SCA Stay!
