Our school district is currently facing drastic budget cuts. Unfortunately, eliminating the K-4 music program is being considered. Eliminating music would adversely impact all 1st through 4th grade students in the district. It would be devastating to lose such a valuable and well-run program. Music has a proven positive impact to our children in numerous ways. Students who participate in music achieve higher grades in academic subjects and higher scores on standardized tests.
