We, the concerned citizens and business owners of Parkville, do herbey object to any proposed sale of the Lavender Parking lot on Harford Road. The lot is essential to the Business District to keep and recruit new businesses. The proposed sale is in direct opposition to the recently completed $11 million investment of the Streetscape. The Baltimore County Revenue Authority is urged to reconsider any sale and work with the Parkville Carney Business and Professional Association, and the Greater Parkville Community Council for a solution.

I have been meeting with local business owners this week and the anxiety about losing the Lavender Lot is palpable. We just spent millions to revitalize Harford Road and removing this parking would gut the progress we have fought so hard for.

Seeing this level of support for the Lavender Lot makes me realize how many of us truly care about the future of our downtown storefronts. My father built his shop right around the corner and he would be heartbroken to see that essential path to his front door paved over for something else. This momentum proves that people value the heart of our community more than a quick sale.

We need the parking more than we need another Subway sandwich shop or other national chain location.

Nobody is gonna walk three blocks just to get a coffee or pick up dry cleaning. Keep the lot open.

WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS? We just spent all that money on the streetscape just to kill off the parking? makes no sense at all.

Parking is already a nightmare on Harford Road. If we lose this lot the small shops are gonna suffer big time.
