The council shut down the proposal to open our trails to ATVs. I am relieved that my children can finally hike these woods without the constant roar of engines. We won this because you refused to let our local ecosystem be sacrificed for noise and exhaust.

Final supporters
We the undersigned believe that ATV use on ecologically sensitive trails in the Rural Municipality of Gimli should be restricted. The "Rails to Trail" route and other public trails in the Interlake will be damaged irrevocably by repeated ATV use. We also feel that the quality of experience for other trail users and quality of life and property values for those with land adjacent to the trail will be significantly diminished and thus permission should not be amended to include ATV use.

Watching this community rally behind our local trails has been deeply moving. These woods and paths are where I go to find peace and seeing so many people protect them gives me real hope for our future.

I walk these paths every morning and seeing the deep ruts forming breaks my heart. We are getting very near the 250 signature mark and I need you to send this link to your neighbors right now to push us over the edge.

Please restrict them before there is nothing left. It is barely safe to walk the dog anymore.
Ridiculous. Those trails were meant for walkers and hikers not for people to tear up the ground with their loud toys. Stop it now.
I used to love walking here but its just dust and deep ruts everywhere now. So sad to see it getting ruined like this.
The noise is non stop all weekend. My kids cant even ride their bikes out there anymore because we are worried about these atvs flying around the corners.
TOTAL LACK OF RESPECT. Ruins property values too. Keep the motors off the trails.

Keep them off the main trails! Plenty of places to ride without destroying the public pathways in Gimli.
