Save our Police Officers!
We, the undersigned, urge the Tory & Lib Dem government to immediately review its decision to impose massive cuts on Greater Manchester Police which could see up to 1,500 police officers and 1,400 police staff forced out of their jobs.
Cuts of £134 million to Greater Manchester Police over the next four years mean GMP has to cut one quarter of its entire workforce. The loss of 1,500 police officers could mean 50 police officers off the streets of Bury.
The loss of 50 police officers in Bury could have a very damaging impact on the safety of people in Prestwich, Radcliffe, Whitefield & Unsworth.
We urge the government not to put saving a few million pounds above the safety of our communities and to urgently review this reckless decision.
