I understand cuts need to be made but do not agree with this one. When children visit this museum it inspires them to want to attend a place like UT to become a scientist. It makes what they see in books and on television come alive. This is a travesty.

I was at UT for both my BSN and MSN and never knew about this awesome museum. That changed today as I took my two boys to explore the 4 floors of amazing Texas natural history. What a gem in the center of campus that could easily be missed.

I visited this museum as a child in the 70s and I began bringing my children here regularly in 2003. This musuem is a great education asset to the children of Central Texas who may never travel to the museums in Houston, Dallas, and beyond.

This museum is an Austin treasure. It has been losing ground over the last few years with the sale or storage of some wonderful exhibits, but is a great place for families nevertheless. Went there whenwe first moved here in the late 50's and have taken my kids and grandkids there. It is an act of insanity to so underfund it.

TMM is a jewel on the UT campus. Cutting its funding is simply unacceptable. I have fond memories of visiting the TMM as a child, a student at UT, and now as an adult. Please reconsider the cut and find another way to balance your budget.

TMM hold the best collection of cave arthropods from Mexico, which have resulted in hundreds of scientific publications. Cutting its budges is not only a real shame but would considered a crime!r

My mother took me here regularly as a child and it opened my world up to science. I now take the little girl I nanny for here almost every week. Please keep this place alive for children and adults alike! Very important.

Please consider saving this State treasure, and not shutting the doors. This should be an investment opportunity, not a budget cut.
