Dear Nexon America, This is an open letter and petition to suggest ways to prevent further mishaps for your company. I notice that as of late, you have always had to extend maintenance for even event updates because it seems as though every time you try to update the game, you run into some kind of error or two... I suggest Investing in a test server. Test the patches out before actually trying to implement them into the main server. This gets patches out more time efficiently and prevents these multiple maintenances with multiple extensions. On the off-chance you do get an unexpected error, be humble with your time-frame on fixing it. If you are unsure of how long it would take to fix the error, simply state what the error is (I.E "an internal server error, content not working properly, missing or corrupt data, etc) and tell us honestly that you don't know how long it will take instead of throwing us a number and then later to admitting you don't know how long it will take. Another great thing about having a test server is that it can be a great place to fix issues currently going on. For instance the homestead stone glitch. Duplicate the main server files into the test server, find what's wrong, fix it and go down for maybe an hour (scheduled or unscheduled) implement the fixed files/data and bam. A fixed problem. A personal suggestion of mine is that I'd like it if you had a more powerful server to run the game on. The server has lag spikes often, monster lag, freezing in place, odd delays, and it could be a great investment. I honestly don't play the game for the combat because I hate and fear monster lag. I don't enjoy waiting for the monsters to appear only to not attack me. A more powerful and dedicated server could fix lag issues. I honestly don't know your financial situation at the moment but I'd like to suggest hiring more people. Your careers page clearly shows that Nexon requres more employees. I suggest scouting out employees for the Mabinogi team specifically. I personally would like to see more community managers on the forums. Sabina can't answer everyone, especially when things go awry. Also, computer programmers and game developers would certainly help your game thrive by keeping the servers in top shape. I'd also love for the administration to become more involved with the community. More GM-Hosted events and things like that can make a huge difference in how your customers view you. If you are engaged with them, they become more attached to you as customers. An important aspect I'd like to focus on that most players who mod will not enjoy, is the idea of tighter security. Mabinogi is easily a broken game because of duplication and mods. While I'm fine with simple CP readers and other kinds of readers and game boosters (font changers, animal silencing, etc.), I feel like there should either be a stronger security program, or completely halting modifications as a whole. I'm sure the mabinogi team is aware of mod users. It's even spoken about freely in-game. I'd rather that modding be a choice of the players, though it would be beneficial to stop the game-breaking modifications (Mabipake, Alyssa, etc.) Finally I'd like to address the issues you may be having with customer support. While I understand that you have an inbox chock full of support questions, there really is no way around this problem other than to have more staff in customer support. Have half of them answer new tickets, and the other half answering old tickets. That way the wait for new tickets isn't as long and the old tickets are finally given some attention. I know this open letter is rather messy and I haven't done my research on your finances, but please seriously consider my suggestions. I love this game because it was the game that brought my friends and I together and I'd love to see it flourish. Thank you, and I hope your company gets through these difficult times.
