The Liz Carpenter Fountain in Butler Park needs a big fix. The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department is trying to get it up and running. But after only four years in operation, they are now estimating it will cost $800,000 to replace the filtration system, grout work and fill in the wading pools in order to make it safe for children and meet current health codes and regulations. As taxpayers, citizens and those who both enjoy the fountain and honor its namesake, please sign this petition to show your support of the Liz Carpenter Fountain.
