It should be expanded to a four-lane the link of the road way, But passing Lanes would do a lot to reduce the head on collisions.

Lived in ridgecrest my whole life and my parents despised driving that road and now as an adult with my own family I hate it. My in laws were in an accident on that road and we’re very bad injured and we as a family have had so many close calls because of people passing both legally and illegally. It’s scary out there

I have to travel this highway frequently and it is very unsafe and scary to know that even if you are driving carefully, many people illegally passing you and others, are not. And they are putting my and other families at risk.

Please make this road safer. It is very sad so many people have died on it because of its poor design and failure to make improvements. I have driven on this road for over 35 years. There have been tremendous improvements on highway 14 north of 395. Please make similar improvements to 395

How many lives must be lost on Hwy 395 before something is finally done to fix the problem of impatient drivers not following the rules. We (my husband and I) travel Hwy 395 frequently between Inyokern and Adelanto and every single time we see unsafe passing with near devastating consequences. My cousin will not even travel Hwy 395, but will take Hwy 14 to avoid the Hwy 395 "Death Trap." The double yellow lines do not work. There are extremely limited passing areas now that the State of California changed the highway. Hwy 395 is worse now than before the bike lanes/shoulders were modified. If nothing else put a concrete barrier down the middle of the road! Please help us and set this problem as your highest priority! I hope one of your loved ones isn't killed on Hwy 395. We are tired of dealing with these needless Hwy 395 deaths. Please do something ASAP!

This road is a disgrace. The so-called improvements that were made a few years ago only served to remove some of the then existing passing lanes and made it more unsafe. Too many deaths and accidents on it.

Growing up in Ridgecrest 395 was the most dangerous streach of road, always hearing my parents talking about car accidents on the 395 and that was over 40 years ago , so many lives lost !! Change is good.
