I have traveled many times since I am from Bishop, this is a need that should have been years ago. I myself have had incidents of people passing on that road and a close call it was. There needs to be more passing lanes to save lives rather than risk lives!!!

Live in northern Nevada. Don't use 395 because of the crazy drivers. Takes us a little more time but we have found safer routes to So Cal

My mom got in an accident on 395 when I was In elementary school. Lucky for us she is still alive but every time I drive on 395 I see this and always say this needs to be a 2 lane both ways because it is that dangerous.

I grew up in Ridgecrest. At the beginning of March 2018, my 18 yr old son and I drove from San Dimas to RC on 395. So many times, too many to count, on 395 people tried passing on a double yellow line or when it was plain not safe to pass. I never remember it being that scary back in the late 80's and early 90's. Something NEEDS to be done!!!!!

Until this necessary changes take place, there should be several signs
posted stating the number of deaths that have taken place on this highway over many years. Also
many signs stating "DO NOT PASS
ON HILL".

Lets change the 395 from a death trap waiting to happen, to an enjoyable drive through the desert =)

I drive that to work every day. And it feel like I’m driving through a graveyard. People are so inconsiderate and selfish

Is getting to your destination 10 minutes earlier than the semi or rv in front of you worth your life or the lives of others? The answer should be quite obvious!

This should have been done years and years ago... That road is the gateway for southern California residents to Mammoth, Bishop, Bodie, Redding and so much more... Make it 4 lanes... Or alternate 3 lanes every few miles so that the impatient people do not kill familes...

I drive this road almost every day. Needs to be 4 lanes to stop all the unsafe passing. I don't want to die on that road.

My experience is the same as everyone elses. Seen many accidents, many lives lost. Seen countless people pass on double or quad yellow lines. CHP needs to patrol better or the state needs split the highway. Or both.

I lived in the Victor Valley my whole life, we were told years ago this road would be fixed to make it safer. Just adding rumble strips has not made it safer. There is enough room for 2 lanes on both sides of the highway. How many more lives hade to be destroyed before this road is fixed?

This is a definate must. I've lost many friends on Highway 395, to accidents involving another driver's poor decision making.
