Please pardon John Lenihan IV and expunge his record as a sex offender. He had consentual sex with his girlfriend when he was only 18 years old and she was 15 years old. They were together for several months prior to her parents inviting him to move in with her. Then on a day when her father changed his mind and called the police. John pleaded no contest, he was with the girl. He was charged as a youthful offender. They sentenced him with lewd and lascivious molestation of a minor under 16 and sent him away for 3 years after which he served an additional 3 years on probation. He had gotten married after his release and had a child, but due to the extreme confines he was place under, his marriage failed. John is a college student now and is struggling to find work, because nobody wants a sex offender as an employee. His place of work has to be on his sex offender registry and employers avoid him because of this. He is limited on where he can live and has not been able to take his son places because of his situation. When his son is older he would like to be able to bring him to school, and other functions that normal families get to enjoy. When John graduates from college he would like to be able to work as an artist without the stigma of this affecting both the quality of his work and his ability to sell it. John has no prior record, nor has he been in any trouble since. But because of one mistake when he was a teenager his entire life is destroyed.
