We the undersigned object to Moorland Energy Ltd's proposal to build a sour gas processing plant on greenfield land at Hurrell Lane, Thornton le Dale, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Planning ref: NY/2010.0159/ENV

We also object to Moorland Energy Ltd's planning application to site a gas wellhead on land within the North York Moors National Park. Planning ref: NYM/2010/0262/EIA

To build this plant and wellhead would be a disaster for the local environment, local economy and the local community.

We urge North Yorkshire County Council Planning Department and North York Moors National Park Planning Department to reject these applications on the grounds that they would be damaging to the environment, out of character with their surroundings and potentially harmful to the health of the local population.
