We regret to announce that on June 28th we will be closing our Old Town Store.

Thank you for all of your support! We strive to bring the most delicious hot sauce products to our fellow chili heads! This is our number one priority. The State of California has, and continues to restricted us from selling 15 of our most popular products.

Hot Licks is small business that's passionate about the access and availability of every one of our products to every customer, at all of our stores. We have protested this restriction and advocated to have the State reconsider their position regarding the 15 sauces. The State won't budge!

The Old Town San Diego State Park is for access and enjoyment of the public. If you would like to see Hot Licks back in Old Town San Diego with our full line of products, please sign the petition and we will submit to the state: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/savehotlickssau...

You can also contact the State Park and let them know you miss us: 619-688-3260

THANK YOU for your support and we look forward to continuing to provide access to the best hot sauce products you deserve!

I am truly overwhelmed by the messages you have left here about how much those sauces meant to your kitchens. It was never my intention to start something this large but seeing your passion has shown me that this really belongs to all of you now.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the way this has taken off. This momentum is showing the state that people really care about having these sauces back in Old Town. You have all turned a small idea into something that feels impossible to ignore.

Hot Licks is a part of San Diego! Nobody is forced to consume any of those hot sauces and they're not for everybody, but a lot of us do enjoy the entire variety of hot sauces they sell and would like to be able to purchase any of our favorites when ever we'd like!

I'm a San Diego tax payer and patron of Old Town since 1972 - not to mention a hot sauce lover and long-time Hot Licks customer. As such I strongly urge reconsideration of this issue!

Hot sauce is more and more recognised by health authorities as a healthy product. More and more research are made and more and more products developed from hot chiles for various healt problems. So why would a government prevent the sale of a healthy product in the first place?

Hot licks is a unique store with in a sea of souvinier venodors. A place wher you can truely pick up a unigue gift. It is locally owned and operated by people who care. Too many unique small business are closing thier doors. The state is essentially killing the American dream. To bar a specialty shop for selling its specialties due to an agreement with a store that has not been in Old Town for years is poor business. But to do so, not so subtly, showing favoritism to vendors who have ties to people who work for the State is appaling. nep·o·tism noun the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends.

i love their hot sauces. I don't understand why you would want to stop them from selling their terrific products. I was there over the weekend. Old Town business's are suffering enough with out another San Diego specialty shop closing their doors.

Old Town losing Hot Licks is like San Diego losing Horton Plaza. For one thing, the competing store over charges for their products and has terrible customer service, together with lack of knowledge of their products. Hot Licks is customer oriented, knows their inventory and post reasonable price's. This only shows where kiss-ass politics can get you. A another blight on the name of San Diego.

Another case of bully tactics by the State of California! Bring back Hotlicks

This is so unreal. Why those particular ones? What is the reasoning behind this? Has anyone other than Hot Licks contact the signatory? And why is this just coming to light, when the letter was written six years ago?
