Your Excellencies:
After carefully reviewing the Blue Commission report <www.faithinthefuture.com/pdf/commission-report.pdf>, we have discovered that it has erroneously identified Holy Trinity School (Morrisville) as financially unsustainable. Further, we have discovered that the economic data provided at <www.faithinthefuture.com/schools/16147-2/> is not only dated, but it fails to note that the parish subsidy for Holy Trinity is actually less than the subsidy for the school into which the Commission recommends that Holy Trinity be absorbed. Unfortunately, the tone of the Blue Commission report discourages appeals:
-
"If we can raise the money to keep our school open, will anyone listen? The Archbishop has accepted the Blue Ribbon Commission’s recommendations to strengthen and reinvigorate our schools and his decision is final. Our mission of Catholic education is badly served by trying to sustain unsustainable schools, which is why the Blue Ribbon Commission has made the difficult recommendation to regionalize, partner or close your school. We welcome your comments and concerns, so please email us at info@faithinthefuture.com" <http://www.faithinthefuture.com/faq/#16>.
Your Excellencies, the Blue Commission report also fails to consider the fact that the Morrisville school district does NOT provide busing.
We respectfully request that you reconsider the Blue Commission's recommendation with regard to Holy Trinity School.
