This petition hereby requests that the E.P.A delay implementation of the "Cross-State Air Pollution Rule" in the State of Texas. This rule will more than likely cause the shutdown of several East Texas power plants. This will create massive job loss and devastation to many small East Texas towns. The EPA has given an unfair amount of time for Texas power plants to comply, by including them last minute in this rule, and giving them less than 6 months to comply.

The EPA bureaucrats in Washington are still ignoring the destruction they are about to rain down on our local families. They think they can crush our towns with this impossible deadline and get away with it in silence. This fight is far from over because we refuse to let them kill our jobs.

August 6, 2011

The people of East Texas are finally waking up to the bureaucratic nightmare the EPA is forcing down our throats. These out of touch regulators clearly think our livelihoods are bargaining chips but this momentum proves we are ready to fight back against their reckless mandates.

My brother and three neighbors work at that plant. If it closes this whole town is basically toast. Leave us alone.

THEY DONT CARE ABOUT US. Just another way to kill off our jobs and make everything more expensive. Stop the EPA!

6 months is not enough time to redo an entire power plant. The government is setting them up to fail on purpose.

Keep Texas power in Texas. We dont need outsiders deciding how we keep our lights on.

Ridiculous overreach. Small towns are struggling enough without these desk jockeys in DC coming down and shutting down our livelihoods.

My husband has been there 15 years. Where are we supposed to go if he loses his job???
