The University of Toronto Equity Studies department is habitually faced with cuts to resources and staff. The most recent of these is the decision not to extend the contract of renowned Disability Studies educator and author Dr. Rod Michalko. Rod has been a professor at U of T for the past three years, during which time he has afforded students the opportunity of exploring disability as a socio-political phenomenon, while promoting critical thought and open discussion in his lectures. The University of Toronto's refusal to allow Rod to continue his invaluable contributions to the Equity Studies program, is unfair and unacceptable. Please join in telling the university of the critical importance of disability studies at the undergrad level.

The University of Toronto administrators are finally being forced to look at the wreckage they are creating in the Equity Studies department. This surge in support proves they cannot quietly erase Disability Studies while we are watching. We are keeping the pressure on until they reverse this cowardly decision.

This is ridiculous. Equity studies is already underfunded and now this? Keep Rod!

Rod is the best professor I had at UofT. Seriously, why cut the people who actually care about their students??

Disability studies matters so much. Stop cutting staff who challenge us to think differently. Unbelievable.
