My finacee has been working tirelessly to graduate in December. We will be moving back to New York to begin our lives together as a young married couple; having her wait for a commencement in May is just out of the question for us. She deserves to be honored for her hard work when she graduates and not half a year later when she will already be a full time nurse.

We had arranged to come in December from Togo,West Africa where we serve as missionaries for our daughter’s DNP graduation. Coming in May is so much more complicated, but more than that, the long delay lessens the importance of a tremendous milestone in her life that she actually will have finished nine months earlier! Thank you for your consideration.

Please reinstate this ceremony. This means a lot to all of us who are graduating in December. We know they allow us to participate in the May graduation, but many will be across the country by that time and unable to attend, and it will also not seem so special to graduate after we are already in our nursing careers as it will to graduate when we are actually graduating. Many will probably not want to participate, as this will not seem like our real graduation ceremony for us.

As a member of Liberty’s new rolling admission to the nursing program, I will be graduating in December of 2020. The opportunity to experience a graduation ceremony when I graduate, and before the licensure exam is extremely important to me.

Because of the December pinning ceremony my grandfather was able to watch me graduate just two months before he passed away. And I wasn't able to get time off to go to the May Graduation. I am so sad to see this be taken from Luson's future graduates.

The School of Nursing should be allowed to keep it’s current December commencement ceremony to reward the hard work of Nursing students going above and beyond to finish their degree early.

We are very disappointed to hear about the University’s decision to cancel the ‘December nursing ceremony’ as so many students have worked SO HARD to graduate in December. It is unfair for the Dec-grads to miss the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments with their fellow-classmates as many will be starting their nursing careers all over the country and on the mission fields, and will not be able to attend in May. PLEASE RECONSIDER!!!

Graduating not only from LUSON, but graduating a whole semester early is a huge undertaking, and the students who have accomplished this should be properly honored and praised for their accomplishments by having their graduation in December. Many students live far from Liberty, and will be working as new nurses by May graduation. Taking time off from a new job to celebrate an accomplishment that was achieved 5 months prior might not be a possibility for many students, and not being able to walk in graduation is a huge disappointment. The heads, professors and staff of the nursing department have made graduating from the Liberty University School of Nursing a tremendous honor and privilege, so please do not postpone or potentially take away the chance of the ceremony in which these student have fought long and hard for, and so greatly deserve.

Not a nursing major, but understand the importance of having a December graduation. Nursing majors have worked so hard and deserve to have a ceremony in December, as some may get jobs that conflict with the Spring ceremonies.
