I am a citizen of the Deep Creek Community, or a resident of Chesapeake. I am opposed to closing Deep Creek Middle School and rezoning Deep Creek Middle students to any other Chesapeake Public School. Furthermore, I am opposed to housing the SECEP EBICS students and the Chesapeake Alternative School students in Deep Creek Middle School. These students should not be placed in the same building as regular education students. The SECEP Center Program and Chesapeake Alternative School program should remain in a separate school facility.
The silence from the school board is draining but it only confirms why we started this fight in the first place. I am spending my evenings reviewing district policies and preparing for the next public meeting because we cannot let our neighborhood schools be treated like a simple logistical puzzle.

Deep Creek has enough problems as it is. Dont mess with our middle school just to save some money. Keep them separate.

We moved here for this school district. Dont ruin it by shoving everyone into one building. Not fair to the kids already there.

The alternative school needs its own space. It has always been that way and for a good reason.

My kids go here and I am not okay with this move at all. Find another building please.
