Demand for Reform of the UCI

We the undersigned deplore the current shambolic state of the governance of professional cycling. The current untenable and frankly disgusting state of affairs has brought matters to a head and our concerns demand recognition and our questions answers. We deplore that the sport we love is subject to the inconsistent actions of the UCI and the frequently ill considered and contradictory comments of the incumbent president of that organisation. We deplore the fact that none of the bodies who need to work together to advance the sport of professional cycling seem able to do so without self interest being their first concern. Remedial action needs to start at the top though so we make these requests. We ask that the UCI submits to an independent and transparent auditing process. We ask that the UCI adopts an open and transparent electoral system for it's leadership to avoid the current apparent culture of cronyism and nepotism. We ask that there is an open and transparent tendering system for contracts handed out by the UCI to avoid that appearance of nepotism and "jobs for the boys". We ask that the UCI acknowledges that we, the fans who love the sport, should have a voice in it's future direction and a clear view of it's governance.
