For those of us who live near Crow Island woods, are we all prepared for our property values to go down once we stop living next to Crow Island Woods and start living next to a man made mosquito breeding water dump. Don't allow this to happen .

Save those magical woods for future generations of children to enjoy!! Crow Island school does not need a waste water pond in the backyard!

We use Crow Island Woods. Our family takes walks in the woods. We have had family running races in the woods! We have setup tents and camped next to the woods. We watch the deer jump in and out of the woods. We listen to the birds in the woods. Located in a neighborhood, Crow Island Woods has unique social, educational and ecological value. Don't take that away. Let's find an alternate solution to the stormwater issue.

Destroying the Crow Island Woods and using the area to detain flood water is an option that our community should reject.

These woods are a precious resource in our community. It is home to many wild species. Having a waste dump of fetid water is not a solution. This idea should be stopped immediately.

Please preserve Crow Island Woods and do not use it as a stormwater basin! It is an important part of our community that should stay as is.

Crow Island Woods is a community space for children and adults alike. My family has enjoyed these woods for the past 40 years, and hope to continue to do so for years to come.

Crow Island woods is such an important open space for West Winnetka, especially for kids. It is one of the only places in town where a child can safely feel "lost" in nature. I have found solace in those woods at so many different points in my life. What a shame it would be to lose that space!

The Crow Island woods are an asset to our community. We take walks in the woods, and my children played in the woods as part of their Crow Island curriculum. It would horrible to kill all the trees, leaving many species of birds and animals currently residing in the woods homeless. There must be another location that can be used that wouldn't affect the environment and school in such a negative way.

Our back yard faces Crow Island Woods and I think people would be surprised by the large number and variety of birds that reside there. It is home to countless hummingbirds and goldfinches, Baltimore orioles, 3 different hawk species, 3 different woodpecker species and an owl family, just to name a few. There must be a way to solve drainage issues without destroying their homes.

I had two children attend the Crow Island school who enjoyed the many opportunities to experience the woods as part of their curriculum. I would never have sent them there if there was a toxic body of water in the woods that are adjacent to the school. In addition to the toxicity of the water, a body of water in an area where small children play is very irresponsible and another reason to consider not attending the school. There has to be a better solution that is environmentally safe and safe to the children of this community.

I have lived adjacent to Crow Island for 20 years. People take walks in the woods, people have picnics in the woods, animals live in the woods, children play in the woods. For many it is a sanctuary and a place to "get away" for a few minutes. Why in the world would you want to tear that beauty down? I strongly oppose this proposal.

I am strongly against any alterations or destruction of the Crow Island Woods. Among many other reasons, there are a number of rare birds that use the Crow Island Woods as an important habitat and migratory sanctuary. I assume that Strand Associates has not conducted a formal environmental study to assess the full impact of any alteration to the Crow Island Woods would have on the many rare species of birds that habitat the Crow Island Woods.

My wife & I bought our house adjacent to Crow Island because we love mature forests, so we are heartbroken by this stormwater proposal.
