Lots businesses change facility's and maybe the mall needs to renovate as a resident here not a financial donor as I am not buying a mall with my finances but see what is in store.. implant to shop : well see what's up. Never made a lot of stores in the mall : not happy about that. Good luck enough medical facility's. maybe the mall would rather be all food stores of a variety coffee houses/grocery store/what else like it. I certainly am for that/ Dollar Stores/

The Mall is on the verge of total extinction with absolutely NO possibility of "coming back." Therefore, it would be ideal to have another entity come in and use this site for something positive..
"UPMC South" is something those of us covered by UPMC insurance or who prefer utilizing UPMC and living in this area really need. The closest UPMC hospital at Mckeesport is NOT a quality institution. That only leaves us to go to Oakland. While Oakland is not far, when you are sick or need medical care , do you really want to drive through Oakland???
While some have expressed the fear that adjacent retail businesses would be hurt or even have to close down if UPMC utilizes the Mall site, I STRONGLY BELIEVE, the placement of a major medical center here would ENHANCE the entire economic activity surrounding the medical center. Furthermore, there is plenty of vacant retail space surrounding the Mall, where retail establishments presently in the Mall could relocate.
I cannot and will not sign the petition for the aforementioned reasons. I will be very excited and happy if UPMC South becomes a reality, here in West Mifflin. This town needs something thyat will put it back on the map.and UPMC South could very well be the kick in the butt that is needed. A dying mall cannot rejuvenate a town.....

U people have no brains at all. Retail is failing due to the increase of online shopping. Brick and mortar stores are finding it hard to survive. The hospital will bring jobs and competition, both good for the people of the South hills. I foresee it bringing it more restaurants markets and coffee shops. Should provide alot of tax revenue as well. So where's the downside now? Maybe you'd rather just remain known as the south hills. The 51 part. Home to the biggest has been mall thays now just a dilapidated eye sore and reminder of how non resilient we are. Something fails and you'd rather dance around the carcass and reminisce than adapt and find new ways to keep the area alive

Jefferson hospital is a few miles down the road and a senior wellness center & a medical complex. UPMC is trying to drive Allegheny Health System out of business. I thought a monopoly is against the law.

This petition is silly. The stores around Century 3 will be fine. Not like the mall is drawing people to shop at the 20 some odd stores that are left. A big hospital would draw people to the area and likely help the businesses in the area. Don't get me wrong, I wish the mall could be saved but it's a lost cause. The stores that want to stay are not being allowed, Moonbeam is not renewing their leases so it's closing is just a matter of time now.

Written by what I'd imagine to be a whiner, the mall is falling apart and there is only 1 place open in the food court. If anything UPMC will encourage businesses to come back into West Mifflin... and really... you don't want to "drive" up the hill to Walmart? I could see walk but drive, if you're afraid to drive up a hill then I'd ask you to turn your license in. I know this counts as a signature but I don't care cause I highly doubt this does a hoot to stop it from happening.

I'm OK with UPMC buying Century 3 Mall and converting it into a hospital...that'd be better than the "ghost commercial mecca" it has become...

We need UPMC to come to our area. I give Jefferson a - rating. They killed my husband. The ER is clueless. UPMC will be welcomed to our community.
