My village my field,my children's field,their children's field,use vaynor & penderyn site,its ready,been marked out and passed years ago, wake up,wise up,think of the future, not just tomorrow,.!!!

Think of all the kids that won't have a rugby pitch??? As a child I used that field for every thing from netball training, tennis, rugby, football and another sport that a child does growning up... I also used this take part in many of school activitys.. my youth was spent here and I walk around there these day and see kids playing like I did 20 years ago!'
All of my family have played rugby for cefn and played on that field many memory's wil forever be cherished, my nephew a 6 year old boy plays on that field and to take this away from child and the further generation is totally disgusting so that Council of Merthyr Tydfil can make money?? Because we all know that the school won't be built on there, soon as planning for a building gets approved I would put my money on it that there will be red brick house there!!!

Build the school else where, by taking vital natural resources from our young people will only prohibit them from gaining valuable life experiences. I am sure enough will be said when children and young people start causing "youth annoyance".

Hi, my name is Liam, I've lived in cefn since I was a young child. I grew up just before computers and phones were all the rage. Instead we made our own fun, playing around the streets, in the rivers, but often than not, we were on the cefn county field (school field). It attracted all kids around cefn, and trefechan as kids. We had games against cefn v trefechan almost every night after school, some nights football, some nights rugby. (Cefn always won).
Growing up, the school field has always been Cefn RFC fortress. I joined Cefn RFC, after leaving Merthyr youth, so since age 20 I've played and trained week in week out at the school field. I witness this field every week, it's a big cog in cefn coed community, this is where young talent is produced. If you went down on a Sunday and seen the joy on the 100 or more kids, almost every Sunday, to even take it away from them, shows that Merthyr Tydfil in itself, is losing its status as a great town, and no longer cares for for the community that sits inside it.
Why build on there, when this field has so much history, so much memories, and so much future for Cefn RFC.

The council seem to be very set on putting a school on Cefn coed rugby pitch, this would be a massive loss to the community as there is a better site at the old Vanyor school ground.

Merthyr Council wants to take Cefn rugby field from the people to build a school. This field was a gift to the people of Cefn as a playing and recreational ground. The council shouldn't have no right to take this playing field from the community.

As the current captain of Cefn Coed RFC I believe losing this field would be a massive loss not just for the club but for the whole of Cefn Coed community.Growing up as a Cefn child that field holds so many happy/fun memories and can't believe that Merthyr council are willing to steal that from the youth of today,Especially when there's a perfectly adequate site for the school to be built on the old Vaynor grounds.

To be fair the children of Vaynor do deserve a new school but definitely not at the expense of the school field. I hope MTBC can find another option and keep the green space for the community
