Every community has always had a CU and always should have, for a credit union that is solvent how is it that not only can they close it but the government can afford to bail the banks out and can't do the same for a vital credit union in the heart of Munster for a fraction of the cost...

This credit union was opened for the people when I was a little girl to keep people safe from people taking advantage of them when they had to borrow money so I think it is a very important asset to charleville and it needs to be allowed to reopened please do not allow this to be closed down people need this credit union thank you

The credit union is vital for the local economy and should be allowed time and space to get back to business again. Mainstream banks or interference from central bank should not be allowed to shut down a vital community service.

Shame on the government for letting it close .it's only Dublin they are interested . Cork /Limerick motorway should be done 10 years ago . If we were near Dublin it would have been done

We need this facility in our town we have great staff in the credit union but only for restrictions imposed on it it would be in a better place financially.

Like many other financial institution some very poor lending decisions were made before the crash. However, unlike the private banks, Charleville Credit Union has received no state handouts or bailouts to deal with the property crash, and should be given further time to solve its issues. The Central Bank shouldn't just close an institution built by 3 generations of people.
