The recently announced County Council decision to close all its remaining Residential and Day Care Homes is damaging to the well-being of all senior citizens, present and future, in the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme. We are therefore lobbying the County Council to rethink the \'Changing Lives\' policy. It is our view that until adequate and appropriate alternative arrangements, including sheltered accomodation of the highest quality, are in place in practice then all cuts should be put on hold. This petition will be presented by Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council Labour Group Deputy Leader to the Leader of Staffordshire County Councillor.
