SAVE BROOM ROAD REC
Richmond Council intend building a MUGA(Multi Purpose Games Area) on Broom Road Rec. This will necessitate cutting down 10 rare Ginko trees that provide the excellent benefit of screening the current floodlit hockey pitches. In addition, the trees will screen the proposed new school building and the floodlights of the hockey pitch. The Multi Use Games Area will be substantial - the size of over 4 tennis courts and will severely affect the aesthetics of the small park area. The council have confimed that the MUGA could easily be contained within the boundary of the school. So, if you feel it is wrong for the council to take away our essential green spaces, please sign our petition. This petition will be submitted to the council within the next three weeks.
