We are not opposed to building housing on these properties, But this reckless plan is only to the benefit of the builder with no regard to the environment, neighborhood, families, and the things that make Bend great place to live. Most people agree that Bend needs more affordable housing but not at the detriment and safety to the surrounding established neighborhood and family's which live here. We feel that this proposed project will:
Dramatically increase traffic to the point where safety is a major concern.
Lower the home values in our established single family neighborhood, which puts the current homeowners in financial burden (I myself can attest to this having the same thing happen to me in my last home)
Eliminate the quite dead end street that our children play on.
Environmentally destroying a great piece of land by removing trees and paving almost the entire area to support 59 parking spots and three 2 story buildings.
