We wish to preserve and protect the character and charm of the Toronto Beach Neighbourhood. We oppose: - the development/renovation of homes that do not respect nor reinforce the existing character represented by size, lot, mass, scale and green space of the Beach neighbourhood; - development that does not maintain the general intent and purpose of the City of Toronto's: a. zoning code b. by-laws code and c. Official Plan, for our specific neighbourhood; - developers who request building variances that are not minor in nature with respect to the properties surrounding it and most impacted; - developers who seek to over intensify land coverage for maximum profit at the expense of the fabric that characterizes this unique neighbourhood as a distinct village within the City; - demolition of existing character homes for the purpose of developing any non-conforming over-densified projects. Help us to accomplish this. Please sign this petition and send it on to all friends and interested parties, near and far, who know and love the Beach. Please donate at our web site www.torontobeacheast.com

Seeing the momentum grow is draining but it proves we are not alone in this fight. This progress reminds me that the character of our streets is worth the long hours.

we live here because of the character and the small town feel. developers just want to make a quick buck and leave us with a mess.

Keep the charm of the beach alive. tired of seeing all these massive glass boxes replacing our beautiful historic homes.
