We are all loyal fans of the BBC's disability website, Ouch! We have recently heard reports that Ouch! is included in a long list of sites marked for possible closure by the BBC.
Ouch! has been a great source of useful and interesting information for many disabled people and their families and friends for several years. It has also been a source of enjoyment for its users.
Ouch! is a place where many users have developed lasting friendships with others who truly understand their situations.
We wish to act now to show our support for the website's future. This is our polite request to you to remove Ouch! from the list of sites identified for closure.
The feedback I keep receiving about the community people found on Ouch is heavy to carry because it shows exactly what we stand to lose. I have been spending my nights drafting emails to the people in charge while waiting for a response that keeps not arriving. It is exhausting work but the stories you are sharing keep me pushing forward.

There appears to be a policy of reducing funds for minority groups. This is the wrong way for the BBC funded by television license to go. As the people in effect, pay for the BBC, then it should represent ALL the people including the Disabled.

Why is it always the stuff that actually helps people that gets the chop? Keep the site open.
