SAVE BASEBALL @ Happy Hollow Playground, Wayne Ave and Logan St., Phila., PA 19144 USA (Germantown)
There is a rich 101 year old history of baseball at Happy Hollow Playground since its opening April 29, 1911. At that time there were 3 athletic fields. Today 1 field remains. There are plans under development that could eliminate baseball altogether by building a community garden on the field. There is plenty of room to go green in another area of the playground. Children from Chestnut Hill, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Mt.Airy and EastFalls have baseball leagues while lower southwest Germantown does not. Our children too deserve an opportunity to play ball!
