I was under the impression that it is also illegal according to the terms of the will of the owner who gifted it.

Andy did not create this online petition not the website, SaveAshbridgePark.com.
But I am so grateful you are supportive of protecting the park and Mrs. Ashbridge's will, deed, and intent.
Thank you so much for helping protect Ashbridge Park from development.

I'm a parent of a child in an overcrowded LM elementary school and I absolutely oppose using Ashbridge Park as a school site. It's a beloved functional park. Look elsewhere.

We would not welcome a school at Ashbridge. Having the beautiful open space and walking trails so close to home is one of the reasons we chose to live here.

Mrs Ashbridge specifically donated the property for use as a public park. It is terrible that anyone would want to go against a donor's wishes. Ashbridge Park is a treasure and should not be developed!

Preserve Ashbridge Park! This land was donated with the intention that it should remain an open, natural space available to the public for recreation and relaxation.

That the Bully Billionaire Lenfest, and "Governer of Philadelphia" Rendell, with the subservient Pew Foundation, shamelessly and with the help of a hoodwinked Orphans' Court judge, wrote off Albert Barnes' (admittedly over-restrictive) will, is no excuse for negating another will and the intended use of the donated Ashbridge Park land by its benefactor. If this happens, why would any sane Montco philanthropist donate lands and places to the county or any of its municipalities?

Public parks are a rare commodity, and once they are gone, they are gone. It is never in the public interest to redevelop a park.
With Barnes, it was at least arguable it was in the public interest to move the collection.

Ashbridge Park is to be preserved. Power must come from the people. We must not allow power ‘over.’ Rather, discover power ‘with.’
