Amanda is a shining example of what committed staff and teachers can do to improve the education of our inner city youth. Chicago needs more schools like Amandla not fewer!

Amandla serves its community well, with gains that are well beyond expectations. Call out CPS for its politics. Keep Amandla's doors open for years to come, so that it may continue to be a place of education, self-discipline, and a fixture in the community.

As a former Amandla teacher I can say without a doubt that the teacher care beyond what is required of teachers. They work hard and love even harder. The school is doing great things and with time for proper implementation it will continue to redefine what the future holds for the students of Englewood

Englewood and Chicago deserve to have schools as good and as hardworking as Amandla.

Political posturing should not interfere in the education and support networks of our students!!!

Amandla is a truly inclusive environment - all students work together to support one another. Don't take this away from this community!

In 2011 I worked at Amandla as the assistant to the Dean of Discipline. Everyday I was constantly impressed with the level of dedication and love from the faculty and staff. I watched as new students, often untrusting of procedures and expectations, would struggle in the Deans office but with time and care, they flourished at Amandla. Of the six schools I have taught at in the Chicago area and I have never seen a staff that collectively matched Amandla’s level of devotion to student growth and prosperity. I do not support the closing of this school.

I have visited and contributed to Amandla, and it is a ray of hope for its students. Keep Amandla OPEN!

#saveamandla for all of the students who work hard every single day and deserve to graduate from the school that they have called home for the past 7+ years!

I worked at Amandla a few years ago. It changed my life forever. The children that attend Amandla get the chance they deserve to a quality education.

These kids need this program. Look what these teachers have done to build a safe and effective learning space. And they have improved in every way you asked them to! And they still keep getting better. Honor these kids, and your promises.
