Amandala does incredible work, and as someone who used to teach After School Matters in Englewood, I have seen how important it is for neighborhood kids to not only have a place to learn, but a place to feel safe. Please don't close this school!
One of the few charter schools in the city that ISN'T run by a politically connected group or a major campaign donor, and THAT is the only charter school in the city that is subjected to the same arcane and arbitrary rules that govern neighborhood schools? Gee, I wonder if that's a coincidence...?
Our school is a community of hard working, passionate students and staff. We out perform other schools in the neighborhood and are constantly improving. Politics are now threatening the livelihood of the students and families in our community.
Amandala is changing lives of those who truly deserve it. Don't let politics decide the future for these students...afford them the same advantages you want your own children to have. Keep Amandala open!!
Amandla is not being allowed adequate time to mobilize its instructional leadership team to plan school improvement in the wake of a new school accountability policy rolled out by the Board of Education. This is unfair and the closure of this school will greatly impact the community it serves.
This is an amazing school with incredible teachers who care so much about providing students with the best possible education. Keep Amandla open! #SaveAmandla

Amandla is such a warm, inviting and family oriented place. Where kids who would other wise would not have had the experience of traveling out of state and was able experience history up close and personal is something a child will never FORGET
