Save Alf Ambulance ALF Ambulance is an extremely cost effective and self-supporting Emergency Medical Services Provider, and is owned by the cities of Apple Valley, Lakeville and Farmington. We have served these communities for 22 years, and have responded to over 65,000 requests for an ambulance through the 911 system. Our providers are Nationally Registered Paramedics who have a combined 230 years of experience serving these communities alongside our Police and Fire Departments. Our operating board, which is elected city council members from each of the three cities, put out a request for proposals to private vendors for contractual ambulance coverage which would start on January 1, 2009. They made no provision nor gave any protection to the paramedics who have served you so faithfully for so many years. One paramedic who deploys with the National Guard to Iraq in September could return home to no job! The current system of municipally provided ambulance coverage has demonstrated its ability to give our citizens the best service in the most efficient and cost effective way possible. Our knowledge of our service area, along with our close relationship with Fire and Police streamlines the emergency medical care that we give. We have the ability to control ambulance rates and our response times to your home. We support local businesses in the community, provide citizen, police and fire CPR and emergency medical training, and are beholden only to our citizens, not a corporate bottom line. We have been here for you for 22 years. Now we need your help to be here for you in the future.
